Curt and Lila Lanning’s Qiaona, the lukewarm 5-2 favorite in a field of  ten allowance three-year-old fillies, rallied strongly through the stretch under jockey Garrett Gomez to win Wednesday’s  $77,000 Children’s Dental Health Association Purse.

Qiaona, a daughter of Wilko trained by Ed Moger, Jr., overhauled Burns Turn in the final furlong to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:41.19 for the mile and one-sixteenth over the infield grass circuit.

Longshot Somethingabouther, sent postward at 26-1, was third, three-quarters of a length behind the runner-up and a nose in front of Fine Assay.

Qiaona, recording her third win in 14 starts, returned $7, $3.80 and $3 to her backers in a crowd of 11,521. Burns Turn paid $4.40 and $3.20, while Somethingabouther returned $7 to show.

Withdrawn from the original field were Scooter Bird, Sassy Badger and Catrageous.
