British horse gears up for Saudi World Cup

Pyledriver, winner of last year's Group 1 Coronation Cup and second by a length in the Hong Kong Vase (G1), is on course to make his next start in the Feb. 26 Saudi Cup.

Trainer William Muir told Sporting Life that 5-year-old Pyledriver "lost a wee bit of weight" after the Hong Kong Vase but that he is "thriving" now.

After the Saudi Cup, Muir plans to enter Pyledriver in the Sheema Classic and then return him to England for the Juddmonte and King Georgeand, according to the report, then on to the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and a return to Hong Kong.

The likely competition in the Saudi Cup will include Mandaloun, the Brad Cox trainee who set to make his next start in the Louisiana (G3), and Midnight Bourbon, looking for his first win since last year's Lecomte (G3).
