Pure Sensation continued his reign Monday over Parx Racing’s Grade 3, $300,000 Turf Monster, going nearly gate to wire in the five-furlong sprint he’s now won four of the last five years.

The Christophe Clement trainee, away at 3-5, set fractions of 22 2/5 and 45 2/5 before headed by 40-1 shot Hollywood Talent off the turn. The classy gray turned that one back, going on to win for fun under jockey Paco Lopez.

The final time was 57 4/5, with the winner surviving an objection that stemmed from his exit from the gate. Pure Sensation, from the outside post No. 11, appeared to squeeze in rivals, forcing the No. 9, Texas Wedge, to take up, and the eventual runner-up, the No. 8 Dubini, to lose ground.

The objection from Dubini’s connections’ was disallowed. Behind him, Hollywood Talent ran third and Fielder fourth.

A Florida-bred son of Zensational, 8-year-old gelding Pure Sensation first won the Turf Monster in 2015, then again in 2017 and 2018. Patricia Generazio campaigns the winner of 14 career races from 35 starts with earnings approaching $2 million.
