Proudinsky repeated as the winner of the San Gabriel at Santa Anita on Saturday. He overpowered Lava Man who showed early speed but faded late. Said Doug O'Neill, "I thought I had him more fit than that, but it’s hard to simulate a mile and an eight turf race in the mornings."
