Prospect Watch: Siblings to War Like Goddess, Known Agenda
Horse Racing Nation’s Prospect Watch scans all upcoming entries for starters early in their careers who sold for more than $500,000 at their most recent auction or whose dams or siblings are graded-stakes winners.
A total of 69 runners who meet these criteria were entered in races Thursday through Wednesday. Among the highlights:
Saturday, Santa Anita race 5
Matters, a 3-year-old sister to 2021 Florida Derby (G1) winner Known Agenda will debut for trainer Patrick Gallagher going one mile over the turf.
Saturday, Fair Grounds race 7
Siblings to White Abarrio, Classic Causeway and Pauline's Pearl will square off in Fair Grounds race 7, a maiden special weight race for 3-year-olds on the Risen Star card. Diamond Lord, a half-brother to White Abarrio by Lord Nelson, is trained by Greg Foley and breaks from post 3. Mister Lincoln, a half-brother to Pauline's Pearl by Constitution, will start from post 9 for trainer Steve Asmussen, and Winds of Justice, a half-brother to Classic Causeway by Justify, is in post 6 for trainer Kenny McPeek.
Saturday, Delta Downs race 5
Another slated for Saturday is North of Bali, a 4-year-old half-sister to War Like Goddess who is scheduled to debut at Delta Downs for trainer Thomas Nixon. She is listed at 20-1 on the morning line.
Wednesday, Turfway Park race 5
At Turfway on Wednesday night, Guinevere, a 3-year-old by Justify who sold for $925,000 at the Keeneland 2022 September sale, is scheduled to debut for trainer Wesley Ward.
