Here's your insider's guide to the horses worth watching this week.

Potential National Treasure at Indiana

At Horseshoe Indianapolis race 8, Renoir makes her career debut for trainer Rodolphe Brisset. This 3-year-old filly by Kentucky Derby winner Authentic is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner National Treasure, who earned over $5.58 million. Renoir will be ridden by Alex Achard and is listed at 6-1 on the morning line for this 5 1/2-furlong dirt maiden special weight. She was bred by her owner, Peter E. Blum Thoroughbreds, with a pedigree that screams class.

Keeneland debuts feature G3 connections

Keeneland kicks off race 1 with a pair of 2-year-old fillies making their debuts in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight. Backgammon, a daughter of Maximum Security, is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Bourbon Resolution. Trained by John Ennis and ridden by Adam Beschizza, she's listed at 12-1 on the morning line. In the same race, Cheekwood, sired by Mendelssohn, is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Legends of War. Ben Colebrook trains this 20-1 long shot who will be ridden by Walter Rodriguez.

Classy fillies in Keeneland turf maiden

Keeneland's race 5 features several well-bred fillies making their debuts on the turf. Grey Matter, by Classic Empire, is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Ag Bullet, who earned $1.34 million. Richard Baltas trains this 3-year-old filly, who will be ridden by Reylu Gutierrez at 12-1 odds. Magic Escapade, a 4-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, is out of Grade 3 winner Don't Leave Me. This Bruce Lunsford homebred is trained by Tom Drury Jr. and will have Luis Saez in the irons at 6-1. Also in the race is Salty Senorita, a 3-year-old Speightstown filly who is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Taking Candy. Trained by Brittany Russell and ridden by Jaime Torres, she's listed at 10-1 on the morning line.

Uncle Mo's daughter out of G1 winner at Keeneland

Keeneland race 2 features Double Jeopardy making her second career start for trainer Todd Pletcher. This 3-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo is out of Grade 1 winner Avenge, who earned $868,000 during her racing career. In her debut on March 9 at Gulfstream Park, Double Jeopardy finished second, beaten 4 1/4 lengths, earning an 87 HRN speed figure. With Irad Ortiz Jr. taking the mount and morning-line odds of 5-2, she's poised to improve in this 1 1/16-mile turf maiden.

Well-connected debut for Gift Box filly

Also in Keeneland race 2, Thames makes her career debut for trainer Riley Mott. This 3-year-old filly by Gift Box is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Girl With a Dream. She'll be ridden by Junior Alvarado in this 1 1/16-mile turf maiden special weight and is listed at 20-1 on the morning line. She was bred by Machmer Hall & D + J Racing Stable and is owned by a partnership that includes Bradley Thoroughbreds and several others.


Improbable colt from strong female line

Keeneland's race 4 will see the debut of Day Money Deegan, a 3-year-old colt by Improbable. He's a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Toinette, who earned $581,000 on the track. Trained by Michael Puhich and ridden by Gabriel Saez, this WinStar Farm-bred colt is owned by Mark Dedomenico and is listed at 20-1 on the morning line for this six-furlong dirt maiden special weight.

Qatar Racing's well-bred filly gets another chance

In Keeneland's race 9, Oak Alley makes her second career start for trainer Brendan Walsh. This 3-year-old Kitten's Joy filly is out of Chilean Group 1 winner Vamo a Galupiar. In her debut on March 9 at Gulfstream Park, she finished sixth, beaten 6 3/4 lengths, earning an 84 HRN speed figure. Ben Curtis will ride this Qatar Racing-owned filly, who is listed at 8-1 on the morning line for this 1 1/16-mile turf maiden.

Legendary dam's son returns at Lone Star

At Lone Star Park race 1, Bernardo makes his second career start for trainer Karen E. Jacks. This 3-year-old Bernardini colt is out of two-time Grade 1 winner Ashado, who earned nearly $4 million in her Hall of Fame career. In his debut on March 28 at Houston, Bernardo finished fourth, beaten 14 3/4 lengths, earning an 82 HRN speed figure. Jacks both trains and owns this Godolphin-bred colt, who will be ridden by Iram Vargas Diego at 12-1 in this seven-furlong dirt maiden special weight.

Love and Pride's daughter getting closer

Keeneland's race 6 features Bundle making her third career start for trainer Steve Asmussen. This 3-year-old daughter of Volatile is out of Grade 1 winner Love and Pride, who earned $986,000 on the track. In her most recent start on March 19 at Fair Grounds, Bundle finished second, beaten 1 3/4 lengths, earning an impressive 102 HRN speed figure. Jose Ortiz will ride this Mike Rutherford-owned filly, who was bred by Three Chimneys Farm and is listed at 5-2 on the morning line for this about seven-furlong dirt maiden special weight.

Combination of Uncle Mo and Todd Pletcher
Keeneland's race 2 features the debut of Epic Desire, a 2-year-old colt by Uncle Mo who is a full brother to Grade 1 winner Adare Manor. Wesley Ward's juvenile filly debuts with strong breeding

Also at Keeneland race 2, Victoria's Shances makes her career debut for trainer Wesley Ward. This 2-year-old filly by Shancelot is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Shang Shang Shang. She'll be ridden by Gerardo Corrales and is listed as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. She was bred by Hidden Lake Farm & Crawford Farm and races for Crawford Farms Racing.

Bernardini filly with sprint champion sibling

In Laurel Park race 6, Slipped Through makes her career debut for trainer Thomas Morley. This 3-year-old Bernardini filly is a half-sister to Grade 1-winning sprinter Trinniberg, who earned $1.55 million. She'll be ridden by Madison Olver in this six-furlong dirt maiden claiming race. She was bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and is owned by Double O Racing.

Eastern Bay's half-sister debuts at Laurel

Also in Laurel Park race 6, Teddy's Lucky Girl makes her career debut for trainer Timothy Keefe. This 3-year-old Madefromlucky filly is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Eastern Bay, who earned over $1 million. She'll be ridden by Forest Boyce in this six-furlong dirt maiden claiming race. She was bred by owner Nancy Lee Farms.

G1 connection for Liam's Map filly at Oaklawn

At Oaklawn Park race 7, Our Best Song makes her career debut for trainer Mac Robertson. This 3-year-old Liam's Map filly is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Mi Vecino. She'll be ridden by Emmanuel Esquivel and is listed at 15-1 on the morning line for this six-furlong dirt maiden optional claiming race. She was bred by Rebel Thoroughbreds, Rowland Hancock & David Walker and is owned by Aithon Stable.

California-bred son of G1 winner debuts on turf

At Santa Anita race 9, Warren's Hot Rod makes his career debut for trainer Craig Lewis. This 3-year-old Clubhouse Ride colt is out of Grade 1 winner Warren's Veneda and is a full brother to Grade 3 winner Warren's Showtime. He'll be ridden by Reylu Gutierrez in this six-furlong turf maiden special weight. He was bred by his owners, Benjamin and Sally Warren.

Gomo's son looking to break through

At Gulfstream Park race 5, Genuine Gomo makes his third career start for trainer Todd Pletcher. This 3-year-old son of Authentic is out of Grade 1 winner Gomo. In his most recent start on Feb. 7 at Gulfstream Park, he finished fifth, beaten 3 1/4 lengths, earning an 80 HRN speed figure. Edgard Zayas will ride this Robert and Lawana Low-owned colt in this 1 1/16-mile turf maiden claiming race. He was bred by Bridlewood Farm.

Group of G1 dams' offspring continue development

Several other horses making their third career starts have noteworthy connections to Grade 1 winners. At Laurel Park race 5, Trip Switch is out of Grade 1 winner Out for a Spin. At Laurel Park race 7, Crusader Rabbit is out of Grade1 winner Constellation. At Santa Anita race 6, Quick Brown Fox is out of Grade 1 winner Bast. My Miss Aurelia's colt ready for debut

At Oaklawn Park race 5, Septimus makes his career debut for trainer Steve Asmussen. This 3-year-old Uncle Mo colt is out of Grade 1 winner My Miss Aurelia, who earned $2.55 million during her stellar career. He'll be ridden by Keith Asmussen and is listed at 7-2 on the morning line for this six-furlong dirt maiden special weight. He was bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and races for the partnership of Winchell Thoroughbreds and Stonestreet Stables.

Drain the Clock's brother gets another chance

At Evangeline Downs race 1, Clocks Ticking makes his second career start for trainer Jonathan Wong. This 3-year-old Maclean's Music colt is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Drain the Clock. In his debut on Feb. 16 at Gulfstream Park, he finished 11th, beaten 16 1/2 lengths, earning a 44 HRN speed figure.
