Prospect Watch: 1 Saratoga race, 6 exciting youngsters

Horse Racing Nation’s Prospect Watch scans all upcoming entries for starters early in their careers who sold for more than $500,000 at their most recent auction or whose dams or siblings are graded-stakes winners.

Let's take a closer look at a few of the 57 first- and second-time starters of note this weekend.

Thursday

Delaware Park race 6. Winning Streep is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Power Broker, making her first career start for trainer J. Tyler Servis and Main Line Racing Stable, Avalon Racing Stables and Alexandria Stable. She is sired by Oscar Performance and is out of the mare Shop Again, by Wild Again.

Friday

Colonial Downs race 7. Rush Week, the second foal out of Grade 1 winner Panty Raid and sired by Into Mischief, was scratched from her first race entry and returns here. Rush Week is a half-sibling Clark (G1) winner Proxy.

Saturday

Saratoga race 1. Sansone is a 2-year-old colt sired by Uncle Mo, out of the mare Diva Delite, making him a half-brother to champion Midnight Bisou. He races for a partnership that includes West Point Thoroughbreds, Lane's End Racing, Woodford Racing, Patrick McGee, C J Stable and Magic Cap Stable. Shug McGaughey trains the well-bred juvenile to this six-furlong debut on dirt.

In the same race, second-time starter Moment's Notice is a coupled entry with Sansone. Christophe Clement trains Moment's Notice, who is sired by More Than Ready out of the Haynesfield mare Profound Moment.

In Saratoga race 2, six Prospect Watch colts line up going 1 1/16 miles on turf. All of these horses are either half-siblings of graded stakes winners or are produced by graded-stakes-winning mares.

Asbury Park is by Frankel out of Limonar, making him a half-sibling to multiple Grade 3 winner and Melbourne Cup board-hitter Spanish Mission. Chad Brown trains the colt for owners Peter Brant and St. Elias Stable.

Complex Agenda is a Quality Road colt produced by the Adirondack (G2) winner Nonna Mela. Racing for St. Elias Stable and trained by Todd Pletcher, he is a coupled entry with Asbury Park.

Concord Green is a War Front son out of the mare Mata Mua, owned by Stuart Janney and trained by Shug McGaughey. The same team campaigned this one's Grade 3-winning half-brother, Scarlett Sky.

Davy Crockett is a son of Constitution out of the Grade 3 winner and versatile mare America's Tale. A winner on turf and dirt, America's Tale excelled at seven furlongs. Davy Crockett is her first foal, and is trained by Christophe Clement for WinStar Farm, Siena Farm and CHC Inc.

Policy Change is a son of Munnings, out of the Virginia Oaks (G3) winner Excited. He races for owner Michael Tabor and is trained by Todd Pletcher.

Finally, Johny's Rendezvous is an also-eligible for this race, but if he draws in, he has a Grade 2-winning half-sister to chase in Lazy Daisy, winner of the Pocahontas in 2019. He races for Rigney Racing and is trained by Phil Bauer.

Sunday

Ellis Park race 7. $500,000 yearling Holster makes his career debut for Winchell Thoroughbreds and trainer Steve Asmussen. Sired by Gun Runner, this 3-year-old colt is out of the mare Classy Dancer, who descends from the female family of Tiznow. Although his dam won on turf, Holster starts his career on dirt going six furlongs.

Monday

Ellis Park race 7. Les Is Best, a 2-year-old half-brother to Stephanie's Kitten, tries again for a career debut going one mile on turf. This Catholic Boy colt is out of the mare Unfold the Rose. He races for Maxis Stable and Foster Family Racing and is trained by Eric Foster.

Div: Age and sex. 2F for 2-year-old fillies, 2M for 2-year-old males (colts/geldings), etc.

Top sibling (highest graded stakes): The sibling with the highest level of graded stakes won (G1, G2, G3) followed by the most money won if two siblings are at the same level.
