Prospect Watch: Dunbar Road's 1st foal debuts

This week's Prospect Watch spotlights young horses with exceptional bloodlines making their debuts across the country. The featured list includes a son of Into Mischief out of Grade 1 winner Dunbar Road, a Gun Runner filly out of Grade 1 winner Love and Pride, and a Nashville colt out of Grade 2 winner Jojo Warrior.

Wednesday

Horseshoe Indianapolis race 3 showcases Emporium, a 3-year-old filly by Into Mischief out of Grade 1 winner Miss Shop. The dam earned $1.13 million during her racing career and adds significant value to this pedigree. Michelle Elliott trains the filly for Machmer Hall Thoroughbreds, with Fernando De La Cruz riding from post eight at 20-1 morning-line odds for six furlongs on dirt.

Also at Horseshoe Indy in race 5, Ferrous debuts, a 2-year-old colt sired by Nyquist. His half-brother Poster captured Grade 2 honors and earned $434,000. Rodolphe Brisset conditions the colt for Imagine Racing, with Marcelino Pedroza, Jr. taking the mount for 7 1/2 furlongs on turf at 7-2 morning-line odds.

Thursday

Belmont at Aqueduct race 2 presents Johnny Hockey, a 2-year-old colt by Omaha Beach out of Grade 1 winner Emilia's Moon. Antonio Arriaga trains the homebred for Next Level Stables, with Jaime Rodriguez aboard for 5 1/2 furlongs on turf from post one. The colt represents the offspring of freshman sire Omaha Beach and brings Grade 1-winning dam credentials to his debut effort.

Belmont at Aqueduct race 4 features J'ray's Jewel, a 2-year-old filly by Oscar Performance out of Grade 2 winner J'ray, who earned $970,000 during her racing career. Bill Mott trains the homebred for Lawrence Goichman, with Junior Alvarado riding from the outside post in a field of 10 for 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt.

Friday

Belmont at Aqueduct race 1 showcases Georgie's Warrior, a 2-year-old colt by freshman sire Nashville out of Grade 2 winner Jojo Warrior. The dam earned $396,000 during her racing career, adding strong female family credentials. Melanie Giddings trains the colt for herself and John A. Naja, with Junior Alvarado aboard from post three in a five-horse field for 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt.

Belmont at Aqueduct race 5 features Collado Hueco, a 3-year-old colt by Into Mischief out of Grade 1 winner Dunbar Road. The dam earned $1.70 million and captured Alabama (G1) as a 3-year-old and then at five, finished second by a nose to Japan's Marche Lorraine in the Breeders' Cup Distaff. Chad Brown trained Dunbar Road and trains the colt for Peter M. Brant, with Flavien Prat taking the mount from post one in an eight-horse field for one mile on dirt.

Second-time starters

Victoria's Shances returns for her second start Sunday in Finger Lakes race 5 after winning her debut by four lengths at Keeneland on April 18. The 3-year-old filly by Shancelot is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Shang Shang Shang and earned an 86 Horse Racing Nation speed figure in her impressive debut victory. Wesley Ward trains for Crawford Farms Racing, with Emanuel De Diego aboard at 2-1 morning-line odds for 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt.

Jadorlinija makes her second start Tuesday in Belmont at Aqueduct race 1 after finishing fourth in her debut at the same track on September 28. The 3-year-old filly by Curlin is out of Grade 1 winner Celestine, who earned $1.15 million during her racing career. Miguel Clement trains the homebred for Moyglare Stud Farm, with Jaime Rodriguez taking the mount for one mile on dirt.

Hand Over Heart steps into allowance company Tuesday in Belmont at Aqueduct race 3 after breaking her maiden by 2 1/2 lengths at Aqueduct on April 23. The 3-year-old filly by Constitution earned a powerful 110 HRN speed figure in that victory and is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Made You Look, who earned $506,000. Chad Brown trains for St. Elias Stable, with Dylan Davis aboard for one mile on dirt.

Third-time starters

Hamlet tries to break through Thursday in Churchill Downs race 4 after two unsuccessful attempts. The 4-year-old colt by War of Will is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Lea, who earned an impressive $2.36 million during his racing career. Paul McGee trains for Blue Tarp Krewe, with Brian Joseph Hernandez Jr. aboard at 15-1 morning-line odds for one mile on dirt.

Vanderbilt enters claiming company Friday in Churchill Downs race 4 after breaking his maiden by 1 1/4 lengths at Gulfstream Park on May 29. The 4-year-old colt by Into Mischief is out of Grade 1 winner American Gal, who earned $912,000 during her racing career. Brad Cox trains for multiple ownership partners, with Irad Ortiz, Jr. taking the mount at 6-5 morning-line odds for six furlongs on dirt.
