Preakness prep: Super Screener has Bathhouse Row play

Just because the Kentucky Derby Super Screener already is available does not mean Mike Shutty is giving up on great weekend stakes insight.

Get the Super Screener Triple Crown bundle now and get not only Super Screener for all three Triple Crown weekends but also every weekend from now through the Belmont Stakes on June 7.

This week's writeups include action from three tracks covering five stakes, a trio of graded stakes plus listed stakes for 3-year-olds that could serve as key Preakness Stakes preps for those sophomores not contesting the Kentucky Derby.

The Bathhouse Row Stakes on Saturday at Oaklawn caught Shutty's eye with no. 7 Instant Replay, 4-5 on the morning line, not factoring among Super Screener's top contenders at all.

"Instant Replay is the odds-on favorite here, but the Super Screener rates the Bob Baffert-trained No. 4 Tiz Secure as the top win, top board hitter and top value play in the race," Shutty says. "The late-developing 3-year-old debuted just two months ago and really impressed in his first career start, defeating a pair of next-out winners. He now moves back to dirt after trying turf to get two-turn experience and shows an excellent work pattern leading up to this."

The other top win contender, and also the top long shot, is no. 5 Pretty Capable at 15-1 morning line.

"This colt scores just a bit higher than Instant Replay but will go off at a big price," Shutty says. "This Tapit colt is begging for more ground, and he gets it here. He has moved forward in every start since his debut and form-cycle analysis calls for another advancement up to 3 or 4 points better, which would be good enough to win at a generous price."
