Preakness Stakes 2017: What is Twitter Saying?

Always Dreaming: After yesterday morning’s antics, the Kentucky Derby winner and Preakness Stakes 2017 favorite appears to be back to business. While Always Dreaming bucked in protest of being held back yesterday, he was calm and collected this morning, pleasing trainer Todd Pletcher.

Classic Empire: The 2016 Juvenile Champ arrived at Pimlico Race Course yesterday. This morning he got his first feel for the track with a nice gallop and is looking sharp ahead of the rematch. The Casse team is excited to see what their horse will do with a cleaner trip.

Gunnevera: The seventh place Derby finisher had a typical slow gallop at Pimlico this morning. Gunnevera has come back well from the Derby, and a speed duel up front could increase his Preakness chances.

Lookin At Lee: The Kentucky Derby runner-up was a longshot the first Saturday of May, but he’s getting talked up as a Preakness contender. Like Gunnevera, he should be making a late run.

Hence: After a puzzling 11th place finish in the Kentucky Derby, Hence has shown all the right signs that he is ready to prove himself better in the Preakness.

Conquest Mo Money: The horse from parts unknown nearly pulled off the upset over Classic Empire in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby. Conquest Mo Money is a true underdog that is hard not to root for, and his chances aren’t too bad either.

Multiplier: This lightly raced colt is diving head first into classic competition after winning his stakes debut in the Grade 3 Illinois Derby. He will likely be a longshot, but Gary Barber was interested enough to purchase him and pursue the Preakness route.

Cloud Computing: Another lightly raced horse. However, Javier Castellano hopped off Gunnevera for this Chad Brown trainee, hoping to get Cloud Computing’s first stakes win in Grade 1 company.

Lancaster Bomber: The 2016 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf runner-up is still not confirmed for the Preakness, but there's a good possibility he could ship from Europe. His one stint on dirt resulted in a fourth place finish in the Group 2 UAE Derby.

Term of Art: His last win came as a two-year-old in the Cecil B. DeMille Stakes going one mile. He is winless in four starts as a three-year-old and is coming off a seventh place finish in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby.

Senior Investment: Although sixth in the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby, Senior Investment showed improvement in the Grade 3 Lexington just two weeks later. The colt made a late bid from the rear and got up in time for a head victory.

Royal Mo: Due to a fractured right front sesamoid during a workout on May 14, Royal Mo has been retired from racing. His surgery was successful and he is on the road to recovery.
