Preakness News: Dullahan, Trinniberg out

While a large field remains likely, the lineup for the 137th Preakness Stakes underwent some alterations Friday as Kentucky Derby third-place finisher Dullahan as well as Derby pace factor Trinniberg were removed from consideration while newcomers Teeth of the Dog and Zetterholm were added to the mix.

Meanwhile, the connections of Derby ninth-place finisher Hansen are “leaning against running” in the Preakness, a development that could leave Bodemeister as the controlling speed in the 1 3/16-mile Preakness where he is expected to have a rematch with Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another.

Also expected to run in the Preakness from the Derby are Went the Day Well, Creative Cause, and Optimizer. New shooters include Hierro, Tiger Walk, Teeth of the Dog, Pretension, Brimstone Island, Cozzetti, Zetterholm, and Guyana Star Dweej.
