Prayer For Relief Controls Tempo in Super Derby

Prayer For Relief broke on top and never looked back in Saturday's Grade 2 Super Derby from Louisiana Downs.

The latch sprung open and Rafael Bejarano put Prayer For Relief on the lead through tepid splits of :24.48, :50.31, and 1:15.49. Trubs, Mr. Woodrow, and Mesitersinger chased the leader before tailing off after six panels.

The Bob Baffert trainee was in complete control throughout and comfortably won his third consecutive graded event. He stopped the clock in 1:52.29 and paid $4.40 to win.

Awesome Bet and Populist Politics rallied as a team with the former grabbing the place by a nose. Alternation completed the superfecta and was followed by Mr. Woodrow, Malibu Glow, Trubs, Meistersinger, and G. W.'s d'Oro.
