“The Pick 5 jackpot has grown to $268,692.46,” said Garrick Mallory, assistant director of pari-mutuels at the track in Altoona, Iowa. “We feel it’s a great opportunity for wagering enthusiasts across the nation to take advantage of the large pool currently, decent field size to finish the card and a mandatory payout all adding up to a potential big score for handicappers.”

The Pick 5 sequence Sunday covers the last five of 11 races during the 14th weekend of the 2025 racing season.

The seventh race, the kickoff leg of the Pick 5 sequence, is scheduled for a 7:33 p.m. EDT start. The sequence concludes with the 11th race, a $30,000 claiming sprint for Iowa-registered fillies and mares who never have won three races. Nine competitors were signed on for the Sunday finale, which is scheduled for a 9:17 p.m. EDT post time.
