Plum Pretty Crushes Sunland Oaks Field

Overwhelming favorite Plum Pretty lived up to her top billing with a devastating 25-length tally in Sunday's Grade 3 Sunland Park Oaks.

Icelain Diva briefly held the advantage through a quarter in :23.06. Plum Pretty assumed command after a half in :46.83 and six furlongs in 1:11.23.

She opened up by 10-lengths in the lane and kept pouring it on, stopping the clock in 1:43.18 under Martin Garcia.

Paloma Mesa rallied to finished a clear 2nd and was followed across the line by Formal Plan, Golden Springs, Cassy Sue, and Icelain Diva.

Plum Pretty is a 3-year-old daughter of Medaglia d'Oro out of A.P. Indy mare Lisza. She is trained by Bob Baffert and owned by Peachtree Stable. She paid $2.10 to win.

Southern California invader Plum Pretty began her career with a head synthetic sprint victory at Oak Tree/Hollywood in October. Her previous two 2011 starts resulted in a pair of show finishes in the Santa Ynez and Las Virgenes, both at Santa Anita Park.
