Coming off a win in the Grade 3 Miss Preakness Stakes on May 20 at Pimlico Race Course last out, Lost Raven, for owner Mike Repole and trainer Todd Pletcher is preparing toward her next assignment in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes next Saturday.
A daughter of Unlcle Mo, she has collected four wins from eight career starts and will make her second start at Belmont having broken her maiden at Big Sandy last October.
Breezing four fourlongs in 49.75 seconds on the Belmont training track Saturdaymorning, Pletcher was pleased with the work and looking forward to entering her in the race.
"She is on schedule for the Victory Rice and doing well," said Pletcher. "She seemed to do pretty well last time coming from off the pace but we'll just leave that in Johnny's [Velazquez] hands to see how the race shapes up. How much speed is in there and where she draws."
In the Grade 3 Belmont Sprint Championship, Pletcher is likely to saddle Alto Racing's Anchor Down. A 5-year-old son of Tapit, he most recently finished second in the Grade 1 Metropolitan Mile Handicap on Belmont Stakes Day and previous to that race earned an impressive victory in the Grade 3 Westchester Stakes at Belmont on May 7.
Also working Saturday morning on the Belmont training track he completed four furlongs in 49.75 seconds.
"We're happy with the breeze so we're looking at the [Belmont] Spring Championship with him," added Pletcher.
Lastly, Byron Hughes, assistant to Pletcher, reported that the stable's Grade 1 Mother Goose contingent headed by winner Off The Tracks exited from yesterday's race in fine fettle along with fourth-place runner Mo d' Amour and fifth-place finisher Rachel's Valentina.
