CHAMPION jockey Craig Williams made it back-to-back feature wins with a victory on outsider Pinker Pinker to win the Tatts Cox Plate a week after he won the Caulfield Cup on Southern Speed.
Again Williams provided another brilliant ride settling just beyond mid-field before bringing the five-year-old mare into the race at the right time.
She took the lead on the turn and powered away to win from New Zealander Jimmy Choux who looked the winner on the turn with Rekindled Interest running on well for third.
Star three-year-old colt Helmet led until the turn but was always pressured by Lion Tamer and tired in the run home. Helmet was backed from $3.30 to $2.90 favourite.
The win gave Cranbourne trainer Greg Eurell his biggest success as a trainer. Eurell who trained Apache Cat said winning the Cox Plate was a little hard to absorb.
