Perfect Alibi to Test next, could face Gamine again
Trainer Mark Casse has set a next start for his Grade 1-winning 3-year-old filly Perfect Alibi. She was last seen trailing Gamine in the Acorn Stakes, where she finished a disappointing fifth in her first race since November.
The Test Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 8 will be the destination for the filly, who will likely once again face off against the Acorn winner, Gamine.
“She’s won the Spinaway going 7/8 at Saratoga,” Casse said. “So we know she likes the track, we know she likes the distance. Again, we’re just trying to get her back on track given our crazy year.”
Casse anticipated that the Test will be just that for the daughter of Sky Mesa.
“She has to come back and run against the best of the best,” Casse said. “It’s tough to get to that level again after a long layoff.”
