Pennsylvania Wednesday play: Bet this Penn National 1st-timer

With spring-summer racing in full swing, all three racetracks in Pennsylvania are open, and Wednesday is the one day each week that they all race on the same day.

The action begins at 12:40 p.m. EDT with the first of 11 races at Parx followed by an eight pack at Presque Isle with a 3 p.m. first post. Then Penn National brings down the curtain with seven races that begin at 5:45 and end at 8:39. That is eight hours of Keystone State action with synthetic racing at Presque Isle sandwiched between the two dirt tracks.

Hopefully our Keystone play of the day will be worth the wait, as it is for race 6 at Penn National, the 25th of 26 races scheduled in the Quaker State and a maiden claimer for 3-year-olds and up with a post time of 8:10 p.m.

Dial It Up is making his first start, and although we love to see jockey Tyler Conner aboard, we're even more impressed with this one sporting five stars on Horse Racing Nation's First-Time Power Ratings Report. Horses rated by Horse Racing Nation as five stars out of five are winning 30 percent this year with a +18 percent flat-bet profit, or return on investment.
