Pegasus guide: Odds, PPs, more for Gulfstream Park feature
The 2024 Eclipse Award winners were just announced, and the Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup could start to determine multiple award winners for 2025.
Cigar Mile (G2) winner Locked is the 5-2 morning-line favorite for the Pegasus, but 2023 Breeders’ Cup Classic victor White Abarrio is among the 10 rivals standing in his way.
Long shot Vitality was reported as a scratch Saturday morning because of a minor foot problem according to what trainer Harold Ladouceur told Daily Racing Form.
Post time for the Pegasus World Cup is scheduled for 5:40 p.m. EST as the last of 13 races on Gulfstream’s Saturday card. NBC and FanDuel TV will have separate live coverage.
Check out Horse Racing Nation’s free past performances page for downloadable PPs for the Pegasus and more, courtesy of our partners at Brisnet.
We also have Super Screener picks and analysis for the Pegasus as well as recent top speed figures for each contender.

Looking at the pace
Saudi Crown is projected to make the lead through moderate opening fractions in the Pegasus World Cup. Skippylongstocking is expected to be his closest pursuer.

HRN picks
This week’s Super Screener sees 15-1 shot Haulin Ice as a runner who could blow up the late Pick 4 at Gulfstream on Saturday in the Inside Information (G2).
“In her last race Haulin Ice doled out a perfect Brisnet pace-speed rating figure pattern,” Shutty said, “which is a great predictor of more advancement to come while stretching out from six to seven furlongs.”
Check out our $97 deal and get Super Screener each week plus Power Picks and Horses to Single reports every day up until Kentucky Derby 2025.
Ed DeRosa’s Pegasus fair odds believe Saudi Crown is the better bet compared with Locked based on the post draw and expected final odds.
For more Pegasus World Cup analysis, check out Matt Shifman’s picks.
DeRosa also has Southwest (G2) fair odds as the Kentucky Derby trail continues at Oaklawn, and he finds it difficult to look past expected post-time favorite Patch Adams.
J. Keeler Johnson’s latest Horses to Watch column also has a keen eye on the Southwest as three watch-list members are part of the 10-horse field.
XBTV racing analyst Zoe Cadman joined the Ron Flatter Racing Pod to discuss the Pegasus World Cup card, and trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. also drops by to talk about the chances of White Abarrio and Skippylongstocking in the signature event.
