Pegasus Group, Jockeys' Guild announce agreement

The Pegasus Group and Jockeys' Guild announced today they have reached an agreement on minimal jockey compensation and jockey sponsorships for the $12 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) at Gulfstream Park Saturday, Jan. 28.
The 1 1/8 mile Pegasus - the world's richest and most unique horse race - has attracted a star-studded cast including Horse of the Year finalists Arrogate and California Chrome.
"We're excited about our agreement with the Pegasus Group and we're committed to making the Pegasus World Cup Invitational a memorable event," said Terry Meyocks, National Manager of the Jockeys' Guild.
"The Pegasus Group and Jockeys' Guild are happy to have reached this agreement for what is sure to be one of the sport's most memorable days of racing," said Tim Ritvo, COO of The Stronach Group and President of Gulfstream Park. "We look forward to working with the Jockeys' Guild on future editions of the World Cup."
