Parx cancels Wednesday racing, joining others amid cold snap

Parx canceled its Wednesday racing card amid a cold snap.

The National Weather Service predicted a high temperature Wednesday of 21 degrees and a low Wednesday evening of 6 for the Philadelphia-area track.

Parx also canceled its card last Monday, and other tracks have done the same amid snow and extreme cold in the eastern half of the U.S.

Charles Town Races canceled racing program for Wednesday because of cold temperatures and said it would bring back the races as extras for Saturday's card.

Turfway Park moved its Wednesday racing card to Sunday because of extreme cold temperatures.

Delta Downs canceled its Wednesday card amid a blizzard warning, and Fair Grounds moved its Thursday card to Monday because of extreme cold and winter storm warnings.
