Partyallnightlong Set for My Frenchman

Partyallnightlong is set for trainer Eddie Broome in Saturday’s feature race, the $60,000 My Frenchman Stakes for 3-year-olds and up.

Running in the colors of Richard Malouf and Eddie Broome, Partyallnightlong will look for his second win in his fourth stakes try this year at Monmouth Park. Two races back, Partyallnightlong bested the field by three lengths in the John J. Reilly Handicap on May 14. In his last outing he posted a fifth place finish in the Mr. Prospector Stakes on June 14.

Even with rain in the forecast for Saturday, Broome says that his horse will go no matter what.

“Turf or dirt it doesn’t matter to him,” said Broome. “He’ll run on anything”

A 7-year-old horse by Put It Back out of the Jules mare Party to Party, Partyallnightlong has posted two works since his last race, breezing four furlongs over the Monmouth strip in :47 4/5 on June 22, good for second best of 101 works at that distance that day, and working five furlongs along the turf course in Oceanport in 1:03 flat on July 23.

A multiple stakes winner, Partyallnightlong is second choice on the morning line at 3-1 to favorite and fellow stakes winner Bold Thunder at 5-2. Third choice on the line is Petey Cramer at 4-1, conditioned by Monmouth’s current leading trainer Jorge Navarro.

Broome addressed strategy for the My Frenchman, saying, “We’re going to try to sit just off the pace. He doesn’t need to go up there and battle. He’ll do whatever you want, he’s easy to ride, but his best races are where he sits off a little bit.”

Partyallnightlong will break from the rail with Trevor McCarthy in the irons as an overflowing field of 12 sprint five and one half furlongs on the turf in Saturday’s feature.

“He doesn’t mind being on the inside,” Broome said. “I don’t particularly care for the post but he should be fine.”

The My Frenchman Stakes will go as race 11 on Saturday’s 12-race card.

$67K CARRYOVER AWAITS FRIDAY’S JERSEY SHORE SIX PLAYERS

With no lone ticket in Sunday’s Jersey Shore Six at Monmouth Park, the carryover swells to $67,035.62 for this Friday’s 10-race card.

The Jersey Shore Six has a 10-cent base wager.  To win the jackpot, a ticket must have the winner of the last six races on the card and be the only one to have done so.  If more than one person has a winning ticket, they split 60% of the net pool with 40% going to the carryover.

Friday’s card gets underway at 12:50 p.m. with the Jersey Shore Six set for races five through 10.
