Paddy O'Prado, under confident handling by Kent Desormeaux, took over in the stretch and powered away to post an easy three-length tally in Saturday's Grade 2 Colonial Turf Cup at Colonial Downs.

Two Notch Road set off for the lead shortly after the latch sprung with Workin For Hops chasing in second. Paddy O'Prado, breaking from the inside post, saved all of the ground before swinging out and rolling past the two leaders. The Dale Romans trainee completed his nine and one-half furlong journey in 1:54.20 and paid $5 to win as the 3-2 favorite.

Workin For Hops finished second and New Jersey shipper Two Notch Road held the show. Doubles Partner rallied for 4th and was followed by Dean's Kitten and Vamos a Ver.

Kindergarden Kid stalked the pace in 3rd and dropped back to trail the field after racing wide throughout.

The winner is expected to return to Colonial Downs on July 17 for the Virginia Derby.
