Pacific Classic hopeful Royal Ship leads Friday's stakes workers

A relatively light graded-stakes work tab Friday featured Royal Ship, winner of Santa Anita’s Grade 2 Californian Stakes in April. The Richard Mandella trainee is targeting the $1 million Pacific Classic (G1) on Aug. 21 at Del Mar.

Also working Friday was trainer Robertino Diodoro’s Lone Rock, the Brooklyn Stakes (G2) winner who is probable for Saratoga’s $120,000 Birdstone Stakes on Thursday.
