Eclipse Award and Sovereign Award-winning owner and breeder Frank Stronach was arrested and charged with sexual assault by the Peel Regional Police, according to a press release issued by the department and first reported by CP24. Peel is a municipality in Ontario, Canada.

The 91-year-old Canada billionaire was charged with five criminal offenses, rape, indecent assault on a female, two counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement. He was released on conditions and was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.

The charges came following an investigation by the special-victims unit. It was alleged that the assaults occurred between the 1980s and as recently as 2023.

Stronach founded Magna International, an Ontario-based global automotive-parts manufacturer, but he relinquished control of the company in 2010.

He also gave up control of his racetrack properties that include Gulfstream, Santa Anita and Pimlico. The Stronach Group is run now by his daughter and former Canada parliament member Belinda Stronach.
