Trainer Malcolm Pierce said Friday afternoon that Overheard, the one-length winner of Friday’s Pin Oak Valley View (G3), is scheduled for a break at owner Josephine Abercrombie’s nearby Pin Oak Farm before rejoining the barn at Fair Grounds.

A break also is in order for a couple of fillies that finished behind Overheard.

Summer of Fun, who finished third as the favorite in the field of 12, “came out of the race fine and will get a little break,” trainer George Weaver said. “This was a nice spot to try her against 3-year-olds. She has taken us to a lot of places and we’ve had a lot of fun with her. She was going to get some time off at some point and this will set her up for a 4-year-old campaign.”

Unbelievable Dream, who defeated Overheard in April’s Appalachian (G3) here, came out of her fifth-place finish in good order, according to trainer Barclay Tagg.

“She is going to get a break and then maybe look at a couple of races in Florida and point for the spring,” Tagg said. “I love to come back here.”
