Our picks for Saturday's $100,000 TVG Super 8 contest

Photo:

Last month, three players took down TVG's $100,000 Super 8, the free-to-play contest that tasks players with picking winners in eight straight races.

So, who's up for $100,000 this Saturday?
Consolation pools also exist for those who pick five or more Super 8 races correctly.

To play, join TVG today, and be sure to use promo code "Super8" to double your first deposit up to $75 toward real money wagering. Entries close at 3 p.m. ET Saturday.

Here's who HRN handicapper Jarrod Horak likes to win the TVG Super 8 races:

Santa Anita 1 (Mcl-50k, CA-bred, 8T)

#4 Famous Rock Star (5-2) did not want to go in the gate from the outside post in a similar local turf route April 27, and he took some action and ended up 5th of 9 that day. He is tagged for the first time and puts blinkers back on. Tab for improvement.

Gulfstream 7 (Clm-12.5k, 7.5T)

#9 Could Be (9-2) is back at his winning distance 2nd off the shelf. Look for a well-timed move from off the pace under quality turf rider Nik Juarez.

Monmouth 8 (Mcl-10k, 6f)

#6 Tale of the Blade (5-1) caught a wet track in his needed local $25,000 return May 25. Patrick McBurney excels 2nd off the shelf, and he might improve on dry land at this lower level.

Santa Anita 3 (Mcl-20k, 5f)

#6 Artistic Ab (9-5) drops off a layoff, gets in light with apprentice Asa Espinoza, and this abbreviated trip might be the ticket.

Gulfstream 9 (Clm-10k/2L, 8.5T)

#8 Kikinboy (9-2) moved to turf and showed marked improvement in his last pair, including a a sharp off-the-pace maiden win at one mile May 11. He might run past them all again with another forward move for the profitable Batista/Delgado team.

Santa Anita 5 (Clm-25k/2L, 8T)

#1 Looking At Thelake (2-1) has hit the board many times (18 1-8-3), but she has not won since John Sadler claimed her out of a romping course/distance maiden win on 4-14-17. Gary Stevens hops aboard, and she will never find an easier spot than this one.

Gulfstream 11 (Mcl-12.5k, 8.5T)

#3 Spring Joy (4-1) added blinkers and improved in his last pair. He broke from post 10 and did all of the pace dirty work in a similar flat mile affair May 11. The 9th race contender Kikinboy ran him down that day.

Santa Anita 7 (Snow Chief, CA-bred, 9T)

#2 Hardboot (3-1) removed blinkers and rallied to win the grassy Silky Sullivan at this distance on Golden Gate turf April 29. He could easily run past this group.
