ORTENSIA came from last to first under a cool ride from Craig Williams to beat 2010 Nunthorpe Stakes winner Sole Power to add to the claims of Australian female sprinters ruling the world.
The low-drawn runners set the pace, headed by Monsieur Joe, but the held-up pair Ortensia and Sole Power sprinted through late to deny Hong Kong's Grade 1 winner Joy And Fun, who did best of those near the inside rail.
Last year's Nunthorpe winner Margot Did, who had travelled well under Hayley Turner on the outside, was swamped inside the final furlong and finished tenth.
