DALKALA was given an inspired ride by Christophe Soumillon as she got up to beat Tasaday by the tightest of margins in the Prix de l'Opera.
The daughter of Giant's Causeway chased down the Godolphin favourite and after a lengthy photo review, the Aga Khan-owned filly was awarded the victory giving her owner a third win in the race in the last five years.
Alain de Royer-Dupre, trainer of Dalkala said: "I'm delighted by her performance today. It wasn't a concern for me that she was coming back to 2,000 metres, and we decided to give her plenty of cover instead of going out in front like she usually does, as that tactic worked well at York.
"I purposely gave her a break after Deauville, and this is likely to be her last race now."
