Ohio tracks to reduce dates in 2011

The Ohio State Racing Commission approved the 2011 date requests of the state’s three Thoroughbred tracks which will result in 33 fewer scheduled racing dates compared with this year.
River Downs will reduce its schedule by 26 dates, essentially by racing just four days a week in 2011 compared to five days a week this year. The Cincinnati track plans to race 81 dates from April 29 through September 5.
Beulah Park in Grove City will race seven fewer days next season. The Columbus area track plans to race 122 days at its two meetings from January 8 through May 7 and from October 10 through December 21.
