Oaklawn Park cancels Friday's program due to 'extreme cold'

Oaklawn Park has canceled its Friday card due to "extreme cold conditions" in Hot Springs, Ark. As thing currently stand, the plan is to run Saturday's card in full with a rescheduled first post of 2 p.m. EST.

Oaklawn had a nine-race program scheduled for Friday. The forecast for the area calls for a high of 36 degrees.
On Saturday at Oaklawn, a robust nine-race card is scheduled with 109 entries, including also eligibles. The feature is the $150,000 American Beauty Stakes for older fillies and mares going six furlongs. It is carded as race eight with an approximate post time of 5:15 p.m. EST.
