OF ADENA SPRINGS AND CANADIAN-BREDS

If the Canadian flag doesn’t fly high over Adena Springs Farm in Kentucky perhaps it should. The breath of this operation’s success in Canada as well as in the United States suggests how powerful a force Canadian-based Frank Stronach has been in North American racing.

Stronach was leading North American breeder from 2003 through 2007 and won four Eclipse Awards as champion breeder in the United States. From 2005 through 2007 he became the only breeder ever to win the Eclipse Award and Canada’s Sovereign Award during the same year. In Canada he has won nine Sovereign Awards as leading owner and has won the Queen’s Plate twice. In the United States his stable’s record in some 225 stakes races won found its highest points with four Breeders’ Cup wins, with each Breeders’ Cup victory from a homebred.
