Noble's Promise has raced exclusively on synthetic and turf surfaces to this point in his career, but there are reasons to believe that the Grade 1 winner might be an even better horse on dirt. More will be learned Saturday, when Noble's Promise runs in the Grade 2, $300,000 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park.
The 1 1/16-mile race will be the dirt debut for Noble's Promise, who is one of three Grade 1 winners in a projected field of seven. The others are Lookin At Lucky, the champion 2-year-old of 2009, and Dublin, who last year took the Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga.
