No Explaining Sits Trip in Gallorette

No Explaining sat the right stalk and pounce trip en route to a one-length tally in Saturday's Grade 3 Gallorette Handicap at Pimlico Race Course. Post time favorite Shared Account, making her first start since winning last year's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf, finished a disappointing 4th.

My Sweet Nenana opened up a clear early lead but faded after the six furlong mark. No Explaining was patiently handled in 3rd under John Velazquez and Roger Attfield's consistent filly struck the lead in the lane and had plenty left to hold off late runners Dyna Waltz and Desert Sage. The latter pair dead-heated for the place.

Following Shared Account in 4th were Baltimore Belle, My Sweet Nenana, Joharmony, and Theda's Smile.

No Explaining completed her grassy eight and one-half furlong jaunt in 1:46.65 and paid $8.80.
