Saffie Joseph Jr.-trained Chance It, the highly regarded winner of the $400,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Stakes In Reality at Gulfstream last time out, will skip the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Nov. 1 at Santa Anita Park.

He'll instead be pointed to the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) at Churchill Downs Nov. 30.

Chance It, who also won the $100,000 FSS Dr. Fager, is owned by Shooting Star Thoroughbreds LLC, which is managed by longtime trainer Mary Lightner.

“Mary wants to give him more space between his races,” Joseph said.

A son of Currency Swap, Chance It has posted Beyer Speed Figures of 91 in all three of his wins. In his defeats, he finished second. Rebounding from a defeat in the Affirmed Stakes for Florida-breds, he turned the tables on Liam's Lucky Charm when stretching to two turns in the In Reality.

The Kentucky Jockey Club, at 1 1/16 miles, is a points-paying prep toward the 2020 Kentucky Derby.

Joseph, a trainer on the rise, will still be headed to his first Breeders' Cup this season with Pennsylvania Derby (G1) winner Math Wizard going in the Classic on Nov. 2.
