Newspaperofrecord, winner of the 2018 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf and three other graded stakes, has been retired.

Trainer Chad Brown said in a Twitter post that the 4-year-old daughter of Lope de Vega had been sold privately by Klaravich Stables and would be bred to Galileo.

Bought by Klaravich as a yearling in 2017 for $278,019, Newspaperofrecord broke her maiden on second try in the Grade 2 Miss Grillo Stakes at Belmont and then scored in the Juvenile Fillies Turf next out.

Winless in three tries in 2019, she won the Intercontinental Stakes (G3) in June 2020, her first race this year. She followed that with a win in the Just a Game Stakes (G1) the same month before finishing second to Beau Recall in the Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes on the Kentucky Derby undercard.

Her final race was the First Lady Stakes at Keeneland on Oct. 3, where she finished third behind Uni and Beau Recall.

With 10 career starts, Newspaperofrecord has a record of 5-3-1 and earnings of $1,122,250.
