Ken Wilson has been named Track Superintendent at Delaware Park and will officially assume his position and responsibilities on Monday, May 9th.

“I am very pleased to announce on behalf of Delaware Park that Ken Wilson has been offered and has accepted the position as Track Superintendent,” said John Mooney, Executive Director of Racing at Delaware Park.  “Kenny is well thought of in the industry.  He has been around the sport all of his life and he has a solid reputation.  The entire staff is excited and looks forward to supporting him in his new role at Delaware Park.”

Wilson started with the Maryland Jockey Club in 2007 where he performed various track maintenance duties before being promoted to the Track Superintendent at Pimlico Racecourse in 2013.  The 28-year-old native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the son of the former long-time Mid-Atlantic jockey Rick Wilson.

He will succeed Ken Brown, who is retiring after serving 11 years in the position.

“The Delaware Park family will miss Ken Brown,” said John Mooney.  “He was dedicated and professional in every aspect of his job.  Under his watch, the track was always consistent, fair and safe.  For a little more than a decade, he did an outstanding job and he did it quietly and humbly.”
