Nashville, Roadster work toward starts on Opening Day at Santa Anita
A future star sprinter and a Santa Anita Derby winner are among the horses who will start on Santa Anita Park's Opening Day card on Dec. 26.
Steve Asmussen's undefeated 3-year-old Nashville is on target to ship to Santa Anita for the Malibu (G1), where a date with Charlatan, Thousand Words and Collusion Illusion awaits. He blitzed through five furlongs in :58.8 at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning.
2019 Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Roadster worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Santa Anita as he prepares to make his comeback in the San Antonio (G2) for Bob Baffert.
