Nadal, the undefeated 3-year-old whose racing career ended after an injury in May, will stand stud at Shadai Stallion Station in Japan.

A post on the farm's website said that a stud fee "will be announced in due course."

Unraced as a 2-year-old, the Blame colt out of Ascending Angel won on debut for trainer Bob Baffert in January. He then won the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes in February and the Rebel Stakes (G2) in March. His biggest win was in the faster division of the Arkansas Derby (G1) on May 2, where he finished three lengths ahead of King Guillermo.

His career winnings were $1,053,000.

Nadal is owned by George Bolton, Arthur Hoyeau, Barry Lipman and Mark Mathiesen. He was bred by Sierra Farm in Kentucky.

Nadal's injury, which was detected on May 28 after a workout at Santa Anita Park, was a left front lateral condylar fracture that required immediate surgery.
