NYRA sets post times for Belmont Stakes racing festival
The New York Racing Association set post times for the five-day Belmont Stakes racing festival, which will be held at Saratoga June 4-8.
Highlighted by the 157th edition of the $2 million Belmont Stakes on June 7, the five-day festival will include 27 stakes races with purses totaling $11,275,000. These are the richest purses and highest number of stakes offered since the launch of the multi-day Belmont Stakes racing festival in 2014.
Post time for the 10-race programs on June 4 and 5 as well as June 8 is 12:40 p.m. EDT with admission gates open to the public at 11 a.m. EDT.
The 14-race program on June 6 will have a post time of 11:40 a.m. EDT with admission gates open to the public at 10 a.m. EDT. The Friday program features six stakes, including four at the top level, the Acorn (G1), Ogden Phipps (G1), New York (G1) and Just a Game (G1). The Ogden Phipps is an automatic qualifier for the Breeders' Cup Distaff.
On June 7 post time for the 14-race Belmont Stakes Day program is 10:45 a.m. EDT with admission gates open to the public at 9 a.m. EDT. That Saturday card features eight stakes races. In addition to the Belmont there are four other Grade 1 events: the Woody Stephens, Met Mile, Manhattan and Jaipur. The Met Mile qualifies its winner for the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile, and the Jaipur winner earns a bid to the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.
