Rob MacLennan was promoted to the position of racing secretary for the New York Racing Association. MacLennan will assume his duties effective immediately.

MacLennan joined NYRA in April 2021 as a racing official and most recently served as assistant racing secretary. He arrived at NYRA with extensive experience in horse racing in Alberta, Canada, having been the racing secretary at Century Mile and Century Downs. Before that, he worked as an on-air track handicapper and paddock host at Assiniboia Downs in Manitoba, Canada.

A licensed racing official with experience in a variety of roles within NYRA's racing operations, MacLennan joins NYRA’s senior director of racing Keith Doleshel, who also holds the title of racing secretary in overseeing the writing of condition books and other duties across meets at Aqueduct Racetrack, Saratoga and Belmont Park.

The Belmont at the Big A fall meet continues through Sunday, Nov. 3, with the Aqueduct fall meet slated to be run over 26 days from Nov. 7 through Dec. 29.
