NTRA Thoroughbred poll: Rebel's Romance joins top 10
Rebel's Romance joined the top 10 of the latest National Thoroughbred Racing Association poll of top racehorses in the U.S. after his win Saturday in the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic on Saturday at the Belmont at Aqueduct fall meet.
Coming in at no. 8 in the poll, the 7-year-old gelding, a two-time Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf winner, scored for the 20th time in 29 career starts for trainer Charlie Appleby.
Three-year-old Sovereignty, winner of the Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and Travers (G1), maintained his spot atop the poll, with the rest of the top seven also remaining in that order.
Antiquarian, winner of the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) on Aug. 31, moved up to no. 10 from no. 11 last week.
