My Preakness Bets Are Clickable - Here's How
By Mark Midland, co-founder of Horse Racing Nation
Here are my 2017 Preakness Bets. They are clickable, and I'll show you how to bet the Preakness Trifecta and Superfecta bets!
The Preakness is a fun race to bet, and there are some nice longshots in here that can make it pay pretty well.
My Preakness bets are all clickable through TVG, so after clicking on the link, all you have to do is click "Bet Now" to bet them. If you don't have a TVG account, I highly recommend getting one, they are offering a $100 signup bonus, which is a really great deal. Basically you deposit $100 to bet the Preakness and other races, and then they give you $100 Free!
Here is the offer if you want to take advantage of it:
You can click on these links below at any time and it will go right to the wagers!
PREAKNESS BET #1
$.50 Preakness TRIFECTA 4,5 with 2,4,5,10 with 1,2,4,5,6,9,10 = $15.00
This is a nice safe trifecta (get the first three horses in exact order) that has a high chance of hitting. In english, what this means is:
- #4 Always Dreaming or #5 Classic Empire has to win
- The 2,4,5 or 10 needs to run second.
- In third we have the 1,2,4,5,6,9,10
Chances of winning: Decent
Chance of a good payoff: Maybe, especially if a longshot runs third, the 1, 6 or 10. Or if the 2 or 10 runs second.
PREAKNESS BET #2
$.10 Preakness SUPERFECTA 4,5 with 2,4,5,10 with All with 1,3,7,8 = $16.80
This is a fun superfecta (get the first four horses in exact order). Why? Because it's cheap but could pay good. It's very tough to get all four spots right, but this bet is only a dime per combination, so we get a lot of combination chances, in this case 168 combinations.
The way I put this bet together, we need a longshot to run fourth. That happens a lot in races like this, and if it does, there's a good chance we can hit the ticket. And if it hits, it should pay pretty good. I'd say $150 to $400, depending on if the favorites run 2nd and 3rd or not.
What we need:
- #4 Always Dreaming or #5 Classic Empire has to win
- The 2,4,5 or 10 needs to run second.
- In third we have All. That means every horse in the race. We cannot miss the third spot, so we want a longshot in third to boost the price.
- In fourth we only have our four picks: 1,3,7,8.
Chances of winning: Longshot. We are taking a cheap shot at a nice win if it comes in.
PREAKNESS BET #3
$1 Preakness TRIFECTA 4,5 with 1,2,4,5,10 with 1,3,6,10 = $28.00
This is a $1 trifecta (get the first three horses in exact order) so it costs a little more than Bet #1 which was a 50-cent trifecta, but this will pay more because that means if we win we will have the combination twice as much.
For this bet:
- #4 Always Dreaming or #5 Classic Empire has to win
- The 1,2,4,5 or 10 needs to run second.
- In third we have focused only on three closers 1,3,6 and the 10 horse. All four of these horses are relative longshots, so that will help the payoff.
Chances of winning: Decent
Chance of a good payoff: Pretty good as long as the 4 and 5 don't run first and second. If that doesn't happen, this could pay $150 to as much as $450.
Good Luck and enjoy the Preakness!
