My Happiness Wins Grass Feature

Fritz McTamahan’s My Happiness, allowed to settle three paths off the inner rail in Monday’s $43,000 11-furlong grass feature at Fair Grounds, rallied boldly outside the leaders under jockey Miguel Mena when set down for the drive and drew off steadily for a 2 1/2-length tally.

Trained by Bobby Barnett, the 9-year-old entire horse bred in Argentina returned mutuels of $19.60, $8 and $5.60, toured the distance in 2:24.43 over the firm Stall-Wilson turf course and increased his career earnings to $145,406 with his sixth victory in 48 career starts. He finished fourth in last summer’s Grade III Arlington Handicap, beaten a length and a half for all the money in the Chicago oval’s local prep for the Grade I Arlington Million.

William Farish’s Hidden Glance, also without speed, rallied late to gain the place finishing a half-length to the good of Carl Moore’s Antrim County, who made the pace with hobby-horse fractions of 27.97 and 53.80 before weakening against the top two.
