Murrieta horse easily wins Turf Sprint

Keith and Barbara Card were at home in Murrieta on Wednesday morning when Brian Koriner, who trains their horse, California Flag, called from Santa Anita.
"Usually when the trainer calls, it's not good news," Card said Saturday. "It didn't sound too good at the start, but Brian told us it wasn't bad."
California Flag, a 5-year-old gray gelding who was scheduled to run in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint, had dropped exercise rider Colleen Hartford and was running back to the barn area before being stopped.
