Between rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous and enjoying chips and salsa with the hoi polloi, Bill Mott won his second Kentucky Derby.

Following Sovereignty's victory on Saturday at Churchill Downs, the Racing Hall of Fame trainer traveled about 20 minutes northeast to the Louisville neighborhood of Lyndon for celebratory vittles and libations at Joe's Older Than Dirt, a beloved local bar.

"After we won in 2019 with Country House it was hard to get in anywhere, so we ended up here," Mott said. "We had such a good time we decided to make it a tradition, and we've come back every year since."

D. Wayne Lukas celebrated winning the 1999 Kentucky Derby with Charismatic at O'Charley's then followed that up with a visit to Wendy's after winning the 2022 Kentucky Oaks with Secret Oath.
