Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott kept the tradition of winning a race at Saratoga Race Course on his birthday alive on Monday, taking race 9 with his final of five entries, 8-5 favorite Revenue ($5.50).

This is the seventh straight year, and 15th of the past 19, that Mott has saddled a winner on his birthday when there was racing conducted at the Spa. Last year, Mott also won race 9, the Nani Rose Stakes, with Alaura Michele.

"There's relief now that we got that win out of the way," said Mott, who turned 60 on Monday. "I want to win races every day. It doesn't matter whether it's my birthday or any other day. I'm compelled to try and win every time we come over."

Earlier in the day, Mott was second in race 2 with Flores Island, fifth in race 3 with Fevered Kiss, fourth in race 4 with Tech Fall, and seventh in race 8, the Grade 2 Honorable Miss Handicap, with Glorious View.

"It's a nice way to finish the day off," he added. "At least they won't throw rotten tomatoes at me on the way out."
