Mosaicist surged past Krusin Kelly turning for home to capture the $46,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Friday.

Ridden by Elvis Trujillo and trained by James Toner, Mosaicist bested the field by one and a quarter lengths and paid $9.60, $4.40, and $3.20 after sprinting five furlongs over “good” turf in :57 2/5. Wild Rainbow completed the $34.40 exacta and paid $3.60 and $2.60 to place. Dove Season was beaten by a head at the wire and paid $3.60 to show.

“I got a very good trip from him today,” said jockey Elvis Trujillo. “He broke sharp and we had a nice position along the backstretch. I asked him when we turned for home and he switched leads and took off.”

A 5-year-old mare out of Aussie Rules by Sovereign Grace, Mosaicist has now won three of her 13 lifetime starts and is one-for-two at Monmouth.
