The tight grip of winter might be letting up in some places, but it has led to another rescheduling of races, this time at Mahoning Valley.

Even though milder weather has been forecast for early in the week, Hollywood Gaming management said “lingering weather effects” led to Monday and Tuesday’s cards being pushed to go Saturday and Sunday as drawn. Both days will have a first post of 12:15 p.m. EST as usual. The wagering menu will not be changed.

Counting these latest postponements, Mahoning Valley has called off race dates 14 times this year including the last five cards. Mired in sub-freezing weather last week, there has not been racing at the track since Feb. 12.

The National Weather Service forecast a high near 46 degrees Monday in Youngstown, Ohio, with wind from the south growing in velocity to 13-18 mph with gusts to 32 mph.

There is a 50% chance of showers overnight Monday into Tuesday with rain possibly lingering until midday Tuesday. Up to two-tenths of an inch of rain could fall between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon.
