Monmouth Park Unveils New Logo

Monmouth Park has unveiled a new logo as the racetrack ushers in its first calendar year under new management.  With the ink barely dry on a lease of the facility last May, Monmouth Park is set to open for its 68th season of racing on Saturday, May 11.

Set against the backdrop of the original 1870’s gates, the new logo features a silhouette of a Thoroughbred, modeled after 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra and her triumphant run in that year’s Haskell Invitational.  Incorporating the green which is synonymous with the racetrack, the new logo sports a bluish hue backdrop to contrast the overlaid horse, with the words “MONMOUTH PARK” underscoring the picture.

“It’s an exciting logo that marries Monmouth Park of the 19th century with that of the 21st,” said Bill Knauf, vice president of business operations. “While continuing to use the traditional green that has long been associated with Monmouth Park, the new logo adds an ocean blue creating the Monmouth Park summer atmosphere.”

The 2013 racing season spans 61 days from May 11 through Oct. 6 and will once again be highlighted by the $1 million Haskell Invitational, to be renewed on Sunday, July 28.
